Meet the Founder

I’m Allison Amini, the founder of Novel World Travel, and I work with busy people who want their travel planned thoughtfully and thoroughly – without having to manage it themselves.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn and have called San Diego home for the past eighteen years. I’ll always be a New Yorker at heart, which probably explains my appreciation for efficiency, direct communication, and plans that actually make sense.

Travel has been a constant in my life. I’ve been to thirty-seven countries across six continents. Some of my most memorable experiences include climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, attending a sumo match in Tokyo, watching the sun rise over Machu Picchu, and exploring the vast beauty of the Maasai Mara. Those moments shape how I think about travel: not as a checklist, but as a series of well-considered experiences that stay with you.

Before becoming a travel advisor, I spent fifteen years working as a software engineer. That background influences how I plan trips today: I’m detail-oriented, systems-minded, and comfortable managing complexity so my clients don’t have to.

I’m also a published author, writing contemporary romantic comedies under a pen name. Storytelling matters to me, and I bring that same sense of flow and intention into the itineraries I design: thinking about pacing, transitions, and how a trip unfolds as a whole.

Education and firsthand experience are central to how I work. I’m constantly learning – through professional training, industry conferences, certifications, and on-the-ground travel – so I can offer informed guidance and anticipate issues before they arise.

Novel World Travel is built around a simple idea: when travel is planned well, it should feel easy. My role is to take on the logistics, the research, and the decision-making, so you can focus on enjoying the experience.
